🐘 Rare African Elephant Medallion – A Lost Prize from 1906

This striking African Elephant design comes from a rare and unawarded medallion believed to have been issued for the 1906 Lagos Agricultural Show in Nigeria. 🇳🇬 Intended as a prize medal, this superb piece was never officially awarded.

In 1906, the British assumed full administrative and economic control of Nigeria, and due to the country’s fragile economy, the show was canceled. This medallion appears to be a trial piece for what would have been used—making it highly collectible and historically significant.
