Shipping policy
Packaging, Handling and Shipping of Coins
Receipt of coins from the vendor/seller shall be at the vendor/sellers’ cost unless other arrangements or agreements have been made with Rumnicoin.
The seller should always make any package as secure and protected as possible by utilising robust materials for the safe transport to our facility.
The carrier of the shipment should be a recognised shipping or logistics company with insurance and protection policies in place for your protection.
After the auction has ended, Rumnicoin will identify each successful bidders’ lots and once invoices are cleared, will pack the items in accordance with its insurers wishes currently no more than £50k value per package and no more than 10kg in weight per package or whichever is the greatest.
All Goods will be delivered via “our” delivery method of choice, which is DHL Express. Should “you” the buyer request an alternative delivery method, this will be at “your” risk (we assume no responsiblity for shipments NOT sent via our method of choice). Costs associated will depend on the total value of the shipment and the buyer’s location. You can find our shipping rates and zones within this shipping policy. Rumnicoin will provide a tracking number as a proof of shipment. All goods will be insured during transit at a prevailing insurance cost as laid out on the invoice.
The ownership of a lot/item(s) shall not pass to the buyer, and the buyer shall not be entitled to delivery of any lot/item(s) until they have made full payment in cleared funds to Rumnicoin of the total amount due. Payment shall be deemed to have been made only after Rumnicoin has received a bank transfer to its’ nominated account, a GBP (£) banker’s draft, or the Buyer’s cheque has been cleared by our bank. Unless otherwise agreed, the invoice amount is due immediately when issued.
When the Lot/Item(s) is sold, the Buyer shall pay Rumnicoin in full the Hammer Price together with the Buyer Premium and any applicable delivery & insurance costs on receipt of invoice and no later than 14 days of the sale.
Rumnicoin will not ship any Lot/Item(s) until the full invoice amount has been cleared.
Rumnicoin shall not take liability or be held liable for any customs charges, declaration holds, or any other investigations related to the shipment of Lot/Item(s) either in UK or overseas.
If the buyer does not clarify or notify us of their preferred shipping method, and no confirmation is received by our team or a Rumnicoin representative, we will proceed with the default shipping method as described in our sales & returns policy.

The company will use the services of DHL and/or Royal Mail and ParcelForce for the purposes of delivering items purchased by the winning bidder within the UK. For overseas buyers, DHL shall be the preferred company transport partner.
International Sales
If goods are purchased by buyers from outside the United Kingdom, import duties and taxes may be incurred once the goods reach their destination country. Rumnicoin is will not be liable for any costs or charges and we undertake to make no calculations or estimates in this regard. If you are buying internationally, you are advised to contact your local customs authorities for further details on costs and procedures. As a purchaser of the goods, you will also be the importer of said items and as such should ensure that your purchase complies fully with the laws of the country into which the goods are being imported. Please be aware that goods may be inspected on arrival at destination ports for customs purposes and Rumnicoin cannot guarantee that the packaging of such goods will be free of signs of tampering. Accepting and signing for the delivery of a package that shows signs of tampering/opening may restrict your rights to return the item to us.
Should you refuse an item, then a photograph and full explanation will be required as to why, and only on receipt of the goods back on the company premises in good order will we accept the returned goods for the purposes of a refund or alternative delivery method.
Overseas delivery shall be made by DHL or a courier of the buyers’ choice and always at the cost of the buyer. These costs will form part of the invoice to be paid in full prior to release of goods for shipping.
Handling/Packing
All goods shall be handled in accordance with accepted industry methods and may include soft gloves, paper, plastic and card envelopes. Cardboard outer packaging, Card box outer packing, plastic cover bags for security against water ingress, bubble wrap and other soft securing methods within the parcel.
All endeavours shall be made to ensure the safe protected delivery of goods bought from Rumnicoin to the winning bidder, and the company expects a similar respect is given to those items being sent to us for inclusion in our auctions or for the purpose of valuation or return of non-satisfactory goods.
Condition of Items
Many of the items sold at auction with Rumnicoin are old and therefore likely to show signs of wear, age, imperfections, and preservation issues. These signs will be highlighted in the description of the items for sale, by our auction cataloguers, however, Rumnicoin will not be held responsible for any grade, authorship, estimated prices, or representation in any associated marketing of the goods. Buyers are urged to use their own judgement on the validity of the information provided by Rumnicoin in respect of grade etc. Our photography will aim to show all elements of the item, and any imperfections will be noted and accounted for in the descriptions & estimations.
Where coins are sold in a plastic holder (“slab coins”) with a grade by a third-party professional coin grading company, the professional coin grading company have their own warranty as to the authenticity and grade stated. Rumnicoin does not accept responsibility for these professional grading companies’ grades. Should the buyer disagree with the grade on a “slab” they must themselves exercise their right to submit a coin for regrading and Rumnicoin shall not be held liable for any cost the buyer incurs in this process.
Rumnicoin operates a sale & return policy, and its T&Cs consider the statutory rights applicable under the laws of England & Wales. Goods bought at auction are not refundable or returnable, however, under certain circumstances where the goods may not have been exactly to the standard described, then the buyer may utilise the policy for the purpose of return of goods.

At Rumnicoin, we strive to offer competitive and transparent shipping rates. Our shipping services are fulfilled by DHL Express, and we have structured our shipping zones and rates to reflect DHL’s pricing while ensuring a fair and efficient system for our customers.

- DHL is our preferred shipping method as we are fully covered and insured. However, they incur various surcharges and we understand a minimum £15 shipping in the UK may be expensive. If you would like to arrange a different method of shipping yourself, please do get in touch to arrange this.
- Please contact us so we can accommodate your wishes; however, the use of other courier services will be solely at the risk and cost of the buyer. We assume no responsibility for services other than DHL.
Domestic Shipping (UK)
For domestic shipments within the UK, we use DHL Express. Below are our rates based on weight, without any additional surcharge costs:

Fuel
DHL applies fuel surcharges for both road and air shipments. These fluctuate monthly, but to keep our pricing stable, we have set fixed surcharge rates:
- Road Fuel Surcharge: 20% (applies to domestic shipments)
- Air Fuel Surcharge: 30% (applies to international shipments in Zones 2, 3, and 4)
Additional Surcharges
- Residential Delivery Surcharge: A flat fee of £5.00 will be added to all shipping rates. If shipping to a company address, this surcharge will be removed.
- Remote Area Surcharge: A £20.00 fee will be added for deliveries to remote areas as defined in the DHL Express Remote Area List 2025.

International Shipping Zones
DHL divides international shipping into eight zones. To simplify our shipping structure, we have consolidated these into four zones. Our zones are based on DHL’s pricing structure to ensure that customers receive the fairest possible rate using this method.

Our Zone Adjustments
- Zone 3 (Overseas Sending 1) is more expensive than Zone 4 (Overseas Sending 2) for weights below 15kg.
- For weights between 0-3kg and 3.5-10kg, Zone 4 (DHL Zones 5-8) is actually cheaper than Zone 2 (DHL Zones 1, 2, and 4).
- Most items we ship are below 5kg, so we adjusted our zones to ensure fair pricing.
- As a result, the USA falls under Continental Sending (Zone 2), even though it is not geographically part of Europe.
Surcharges
- Air Fuel Surcharge: 30% (applies to international shipments in Zones 2, 3, and 4)

Final Shipping Rates
We have calculated our final shipping costs by taking the highest DHL rate within each Our Zone, adding the appropriate fuel surcharge, and including the residential delivery fee where applicable. Below is the breakdown of our final shipping rates per zone, including weight increments and fuel surcharges.
